A Personal Reflection on a Successful SPA Blog Writing Training

Image
For almost one year, I was planning to be a blogger who frequently writes about social and political issues. After knowing that Somali Public Agenda’s Center for Learning and Development advertised a Blog Writing Training course, I decided to take that course to enhance my writing skills and know more about blogging. The course duration was approximately one month. I have learned a lot during that month.   The course has immensely contributed to my knowledge and experience in blogging. The outcome exceeded what I was expecting from the course. The course structure was completely different from the other courses we usually see. We were attending the class twice a week. Lessons were given one day, followed by an assignment, and the last day of that week was a reflection day; at the same time, experienced bloggers were invited to mentor us and share with us insights and experiences.    It was a requirement for each of the 14 trainees to write a weekly blog post and...

Iqro Cabdulle Guure waxa ay ku dhalatay magaalada Muqdishu iyada oo waxbarashadeedii heer Iskuul ilaa heer Jaamacadeed kusoo qaadatay isla magaalada Muqdishu. Iqra waxa ay wax ka baratay Jaamacadda Simad, waxa ayna ka baratay Maamulka Guud (Public Administration) sanadkii 2016. Waxa ay jecleyd xirfada wax-soo-saarka warbaahinta (Media Production) iyada oo igu tiri “Intii aan jaamacadda dhiganayay, waxa an sidoo kale baranaayey xirfadahaan IT-ga”. Ujeedka ay u baraneysay xirfadaan ayay iigu sheegtay in ay aragtay in ay maqan tahay kaalinta gabdhaha ee looga baahanyahay xirfadahaan.  Kadib markii ay Iqra dhameysay Jamaacadda, sida ay ardey badan la kulmaan, waxaa soo wajahay shaqo la’aan. Waxa ayna isku dayday in shaqo  la xiriirta wax-soo-saarka warbaahinta raadasato, balse ma dhicin in ay hesho loo sheegay in shaqadan aanay gabdhaha qaban karin. Kadib markii ay Iqra jaamacaddii dhameysay sannadkii 2016, islamarkaana ku adkaatay in ay hesho shaqo, waxa ay ku fekertay in ay iyad...

Studying while Parenting: A Reflection

Image
Today marks two years since I graduated from the university. Reflecting on my study journey, I enrolled at the City University of Mogadishu in mid-2014. I selected political science as my preferred field of study at the University. Before I started the first semester, I studied the English language as it was a requirement for everyone. I completed the English course in one year. During the first summer, while the university was closed, and before I started the first semester, I got married. Most of my relatives, friends, and classmates thought my ambition to study was over. When the new academic year of the university started, I  continued my study journey. Most of my friends and relatives were surprised by my return to the university but still thought it would end after a few months. But I challenged their thinking and completed the university. We had our graduation ceremony exactly two years ago today, 4 July 2019. Two years after the completion of my first degree, I am s...
